As you might have noticed there haven't been any updates in a while. Not that I am the most successful and frequent writer but a couple of weeks without anything or without a notice isn't nice of me isn't it?<br />
Indeed it ain't, but I wasn't gone for good!<br />
<br />
The reason why I haven't been posting stuff is because my hand was broken, and thus I was unable to properly type and write. After having my hand in the plaster for about 4 weeks I was finally able to use my hand once more. After a bit of practise I now an fully control my fingers again and typing isn't an issue anymore.<br />
<br />
I am glad to inform you that, because of the above, I will make another post soon. While I was unable to type. I could still use my controller somewhat. It actually gave me a new handicap to work with, giving the games a bit more challenge then usually. Although some games weren't playable at all.<br />
To give you a sneak peak at the least, you can expect reviews about The Elder Scrolls; Skyrim, Sonic generations and Metroid Prime 3. Also, I finally was able to come up with enough idea's for a tip's and tricks section for this blog. So if you are into Disgaea you can look out for that as well.<br />
<br />
All in all, things are starting up again after my hand has been lounging for a bit too long in my opinion.<br />
I hope to see you again soon, so here we go!<br />

<br />
<br />
<b>Name: </b>Disgaea 4, A Promise Unforgotten<br />
<b>Developer: </b>Nippon Ichi<br />
<b>Year: </b>2011<br />
<b>Platform: </b>Playstation 3<br />
<b>Genre: </b>Role playing game, Strategy<br />
<b>Time Spent: </b>20/30 Hours on main game. 150+ Post game<br />
<br />
<b>Intro: </b>Since I wrote about <a href="http://zeronicsgamerslounge.blogspot.com/2012/04/prinny-explosion-slaves-dood.html" target="_blank">Prinnies</a> a short while ago I decided I should also write about the latest Disgaea installment. This is the 4 Disgaea title, not counting the remakes or spin of like can I be the Hero Dood. I don't own this game yet. But my friend Belsammael was so nice to borrow it to me for a while. Thanks to him I put hours into a useless hobby instead of doing what every responsible person should do. But I think every gamer can concur with this *wink*<br />
<br />
<b>Story: </b>The story starts with Valvatorez, a NON sparkly vampire. And a weak one at that. Although being one of the most powerful beings in the universe before he lost his power due to a promise. It involved him not drinking blood till a certain event has passes which unfortunately took longer then expected. Because of his weakness he is banished to the lower parts of the netherworld to be a lowly prinny instructor. The most suckiest job you can have. Valvatorez regains his energy though... due to the power of... SARDINES! Yes you read that correctly. After learning that the higher demons make a mess of the Netherworld and rule without honour he sets out on a journey to make the Netherworld right again, and teach everyone about sardines.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDWQ-mbEi63YAwRwQ9Svw3B6xrEwkTbzifqPjiEWO0Cz6vNUH2w6OA1tvoG8E36gr9lhwgvgGjOeUGLyXiTk8-iCHV4oxPfB9D0xwkrcvwTx_CR9J5YJU1GmIBFvNKVzB8bvVYaG1Kpxbx/s1600/disgaea+4+promise+Sardines.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDWQ-mbEi63YAwRwQ9Svw3B6xrEwkTbzifqPjiEWO0Cz6vNUH2w6OA1tvoG8E36gr9lhwgvgGjOeUGLyXiTk8-iCHV4oxPfB9D0xwkrcvwTx_CR9J5YJU1GmIBFvNKVzB8bvVYaG1Kpxbx/s320/disgaea+4+promise+Sardines.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
In his journey he is accompanied by his servant Fenrich, a werewolf in leather pants. Fenrich is quite shrewd and tries to let his master drink blood again on certain occasions to make him stronger again. Whatever he does, apparently all is for his lord. Later on this party is joined by Death Emizel, a mage and a son of the current president of the netherworld. Fuka, a human who died and got turned into a half prinny (due to a shortage on prinny skin) who denies this fact and keeps saying this is all a dream. Desco, the ultimate final boss and little sis of Fuka for some odd reason. And Vulcanus, a female angel who is keen on money and hides lots of secrets. Some characters from old instalments also return. Together they set out towards the president to set things straight.<br />

<b>Gameplay: </b>Gameplay is roughly the same as all the other Disgaea games so far. You start out with story characters with certain abilities, although you can create your own custom characters to battle for you. Every character has its forte. One being able to wield swords and axes, the other able to shoot arrows or heal. You also have monsters with their own unique attacks.<br />
With these characters you set out and start on the next map in the story. A looks a bit like a giant chess board. Lots of squares where you can play characters on. You start in the base panel where you can summon characters to do battle and move towards the enemy. You can summon 10 characters per battle, but you can make more characters so you can adapt to every situation.<br />
Disgaea 4 also brings back the geo blocks. These blocks give a certain effect to the area they are standing on. These might include bonuses for both parties such as attack +50%. But they can also obtain effects for ally or enemy only. There are even weird affects such as warp, clone and deathblow.<br />
Besides these things you also have the campaign board where you can power characters up, unlock bills for stronger items or create new characters. On this board you can place buildings with have a beneficial effect to every party member adjacent to it. They might get more experience or mana. If you give it some effort you can even unlock magichange ( which changes your monster into a very strong weapon), Fusion (which fuses 2 monsters together for a huge and strong monster) or even the combined force of these things. Try to unlock everything!.<br />
Last but not last. If you don't like giving a game a lot of effort, the main game can be played without too much trouble, although it might need more grinding than the last few games. Once you start post game content you need to start on all advanced things to even try to win a map.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0iORQvWCfes1R8CnqVuND5xb9KFwLv8-nMx0nAhVN663FQ5RK50UIGhkrqoDJ7SCFxhEhJh2MZK5aOrGG8CGQ80C2jCDWXO2xMmP1WcENdUyhhY0SO-EoO0bVtv3qX3Nyro15g-K_qRDQ/s1600/Disgaea+4+map+Gamespot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0iORQvWCfes1R8CnqVuND5xb9KFwLv8-nMx0nAhVN663FQ5RK50UIGhkrqoDJ7SCFxhEhJh2MZK5aOrGG8CGQ80C2jCDWXO2xMmP1WcENdUyhhY0SO-EoO0bVtv3qX3Nyro15g-K_qRDQ/s320/Disgaea+4+map+Gamespot.jpg" width="550" /></a></div>
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Audio/Visual: </b>A huge increase from the last installment are the graphics. For a Disgaea game this might sound strange since you work with sprites usually and the skits are mostly just moving 2d pictures. However, background, home base AND the sprites got a huge upgrade from the last game. If you want to see the difference, you can turn HD off in the settings to see how it looked before.<br />
The music in the game hasn't changed much from the last game. You usually hear some themed music that fits a stage. The theme music for your home base once again is annoying as hell after 10 minutes but secretly it makes you laugh. It keeps fitting the Disgaea theme and that's what counts.<br />
<br />
<b>Verdict:</b> I really like games that keep me busy. Even if there is not story to to keep your attention. Whatever you do, this game makes sure that you always have a new goal to work towards. It is a shame I had to give this copy back to my friend otherwise I would still be playing and optimizing my characters.<br />

<br />
Solid gameplay with new improvements, although the main game got more challenging it is still doable.<br />

Not the best story in the Disgaea series but overall this made more sence than the last instalment.<br />

<br />
An increase from the last game, not as mindblowing as games are these days, but good enough nonetheless.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Fun Facts:</b> <b>Disgaea 4...</b><br />
... breaks the 4th wall, constanly talking about this game and the player.<br />
... 's Fuka gives other characters nicknames such as Valzy and Fenfen.<br />
... returns Flonne to us. Now as a full fledged ARCHANGEL!!!<br />
... 's Asagi didn't get the memo about being HD now, thus her sprite is always bad quality, you can fix<br />
this by downloading the HD sprite from PS store for free ;)<br />
... also returns Zetta as a playable character, now as a NON book.<br />
... 's Fuka and Desco get their own show, named (very original) The Fuka and Desco show.Zeronichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11076780267198718119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443645307865469254.post-20033141516907888062012-05-11T17:28:00.000+02:002012-05-11T17:29:36.867+02:00Question of the week. A taste of Music<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRAWHueXXcvFE-MAjKk3zITQNVR0sqNUsuRqdgO6e1gyNPTdVxUdRsCodrD4rSc-jdZrgijKGQSDQVLOmz6GwjXQXebRbB3UocImSIJ-8J6NRuxoBhWDZPSoUvuWIxI0V3dqbdlEmge82/s1600/Music_block.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="139" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRAWHueXXcvFE-MAjKk3zITQNVR0sqNUsuRqdgO6e1gyNPTdVxUdRsCodrD4rSc-jdZrgijKGQSDQVLOmz6GwjXQXebRbB3UocImSIJ-8J6NRuxoBhWDZPSoUvuWIxI0V3dqbdlEmge82/s400/Music_block.PNG" width="400" /></a></div>
Ok, this might not be what it seems. I am not asking you to give your opinion on music games. Instead today I want to ask you about whatever you do when you are gaming.<br />
<br />
You see, some games have a real nice soundtrack, some things that I even listen to when I am not playing the game. The website <a href="http://www.ocremix.org/" target="_blank">OCRemix</a> even has a large scale of remixes of certain tracks.<br />
Some games require you to actually listen to the game or involve musical gameplay such as Ouendan, DDR or Guitar Hero.<br />
But what do you do when you are just casually gaming. Do you tend to listen to the tracks or perhaps repetitive battle themes? Do you just put on the radio or just put up your favorite soundtrack. For short:<br />
<b>What music do you listen to while playing a game?</b><br />
<b><br /></b><br />
Ok this might sound like a real short blogpost. But we are not done before I have my tale told of course.<br />
For me, it really depends on the mood I am in. Sometimes I start to like repetitive music if I am grinding for levels in whatever godforsaken RPG I am playing. On the other hand, I remember I time where I was training in <a href="http://zeronicsgamerslounge.blogspot.com/2011/11/tale-of-2-worlds-tales-of-symphonia.html" target="_blank">Tales of Symphonia</a> while I was listening to a new track of the prodigy. I turned repeat on and before I knew it I was hardcore grinding for 4 hours straight. What music can't do to you.<br />
<br />
Like I said, sometimes music really changes the way you play. And if I am just casually playing I usually end up to listening to something like this.<br />
<br />

Birthday Book of Wishes<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today, in about 3 weeks, it will be my birthday. Hurray, or something. To be quite honest, I am not so anxious about my birthdays anymore than I used to be. Ok, it might be fun to turn 23 but who gives. Since my birthday is 1 week after Animecon most people can't come so I try to celebrate it there. Last year wasn't much of a succes so I am thinking of not celebrating it at all. I rather just have fun at a convention with my friends then try to be the center of attention although I would like to have cake, or pie, whichever one isn't a lie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One thing I do like about days like these is the gifts. Although I still find it a bit strange you get presents on the yearly day that you were born on. Heck, why do you want to celebrate the day I came into life. I rather celebrate because we are friends for a long time. Or the fact that your relationship holds on for another year. On that note, me and Uniflame are together for 3 years on my birthday. Love you too sweetheart!.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyways, on to the gifts presents and stuff like that. How much of a gamer would I be if I didn't have a wishlist?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>1. Zelda, Skyward sword.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Till now I played every Zelda game there is (except for CDI, it doesn't excist I tell you!). And I finished all of em a 100%. Every piece of heart, every upgrade. And then came Skyward sword. And I would immidiately bought the game... if it weren't for the motion+. Seriously, now I need to buy another addon for the Wii. And since my sensorbar runs on batteries and thus is defect half of the time I am not looking forward to buying that motion+ addon. Too bad I guess</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>2. Pokemon Black/White.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another Nintendo game, what a surprise. Although I have an M3real card and thus I could download it, it isn't the same. I even tried the rom but all the online content must be played with an official copy. And I don't blame em. So far as I played, the game seemed enjoyable and thus I would like to play it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>3. PS3 Headset.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Uniflame already gave me a part of her gift(s). White knight Chronicles for PS3. A great game that I will review in the future. However, lots of it is online content, which I don't mind. What I do mind is that I cannot hear my friends if I want to play with them, and I could type it out but with a PS3 controller it takes longer to shout "ambush" than just try the whole mission all over again. Would also be nice for Portal 2, which I still have to platinum in multiplayer mode.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>4. Sonic Generations.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A Sega game. Yup, and to be honest, Sonic 3 was the first game I really started playing. Before, I just did some random arcade games. But Sonic 3 was the first game I really liked and followed the story of. I didn't have it myself but I played the game at my neighbours place, who had the games.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sonic Generations seems like one of the first games since Sonic adventure battle 2 that I would really enjoy. I am not much of a critic and thus I played Shadow the Hedgehog and other games which were meh... but playable, just for the story. Generations really seems to have GREAT gameplay although I think storywise it might be a bit weaker. Ow well, still a fan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>5. A PSP</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Whoa, a bit luxurious aren't we Zero? Yup, I am. Fhant, a good friend of mine, allowed me to borrow his PSP for a a while with Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Dissindia. Although the Nintendo DS hass the touch screen for various nice gameplay idea's I just like some sony games such as those named above. Final Fantasy Type-0 is also for PSP. God of War? Also PSP. There are lots of titles that are for PSP that I would like to have, but first I got to get my hands on the console itself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, you would be totally NUTS if you gave me anything from this list, since the price on these things are kinda high. Don't see that as an expectation list. Just things I want to have for the future. Heck, I might even buy it myself one day when I do have the cash. In the meantime, I already enjoy it that I can spend my days with you guys for another year. Lets hope I can continue doing this for a long time to come ;)</div>

Deadly Dice!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<b>Name: </b>Dungeon's and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, DDO for short<br />
<b>Developer: </b>Turbine<br />
<b>Year: </b>2006<b> </b><br />
<b>Platform: </b>Pc.<br />
<b>Genre: </b>Massive Multiplayer Online, (MMO)<br />
<b>Time Spent: </b>Endless fun!<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Intro:</b> Ever since Uniflame told me I should play pen and paper DND with her I never regretted my choice. I play in 1 3.5 setting campaign and I am a Dungeon Master myself in a 3.5 campaign. I was really surprised when I heard there was an MMO for DnD and thus I started playing.<br />
Although I have been playing for 3 years now (beeing online every now and then) I started playing more 6 months ago, and I am currently the proud owner of a lvl 20 character. Because of that milestone I decided to finally write a review<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Story: </b>Because this is an mmo it doesn't have a big story. After the character creation you start out as a shipwrecked person. Apparantly you were a mercenary, on your way to the famous city of Stormreach for riches and fame. However, an ice dragon made short work of that. After you get rescued by someone named jeets you regain some of your abilities and make it to the village of Korthos. Once there you try to save the villagers so you can continue your journey to stormreach.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/bcOetYuvfeo?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<b>Gameplay: </b><i>Expect a huge chunk of info here! </i> Although DDO is based on DnD it has several differences. Although the main list can be found <a href="http://ddowiki.com/page/PnP_differences" target="_blank">here</a>. The main difference is that dnd takes place during turn of either a player or an npc while in DDO everything is realtime. You also encounter more enemies then in a regular campaign. Spellcasters aren't stuck with an amount of spells they can cast a day but use SP instead. Also, due to the fact that there are more enemies you have more HP then a PnP character.<br />
You start out with character creation, races have several bonusus on the stats such as Dexterity, Intellegence or Charisma. So some races are better for for a certain class then other, although you can make whatever you want and make that crazy build you always wanted. Classes you can play are divided into 3 types.<br />
1. Melee, these classes include Barbarian, Paladin, Fighter and Monk.<br />
2. Caster, Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric and Favourerd soul fit into this role<br />
3. Specialist, Special characters such as Rogue, Ranger, Bard and Artificer.<br />
To compensate for the 20 playable levels as a character ranks are implemeneted into the game. for every level you get 4 ranks and action points to spend on several nifty enhancements. These can incluse passive abilities such as extra hp (racial thoughness for instance) or nifty skills which can be used every time ( human versatility). The enhancements also contain the prestige classes a class can take. Rangers can become tempest Rangers this way and Wizards can become either an archmage or a palemaster. This gives you more options on your characters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLXUSlLWn1ukkVVULhY7fAWazfS5U2zgYKjgEBhC9ybfTw3bfGumi0mxyBXgwtJMKJXyCKxwwo-5QHyJCNaK5Y8W9b263i11FjCq5gBor5B8HSxA5XDzLGBMi-YwkMq54Q6yNax2TA1fJA/s1600/ScreenShot00006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="279" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLXUSlLWn1ukkVVULhY7fAWazfS5U2zgYKjgEBhC9ybfTw3bfGumi0mxyBXgwtJMKJXyCKxwwo-5QHyJCNaK5Y8W9b263i11FjCq5gBor5B8HSxA5XDzLGBMi-YwkMq54Q6yNax2TA1fJA/s400/ScreenShot00006.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Ingame the most common rules that take place in PnP DnD also apply here. Barbarians run a bit faster. Someone with a high Charisma is a better haggler. For everything you do in a dungeon or quest you have to roll a dice or D20. This means that the damage you do might be random but overall I think the RNG in this games doesn't screw you. If you stick to your role everything usually will be fine since you picked the right skills for your class.... you did... didn't you?<br />
<br />
One of the best things of this MMO though is the way it gives you quests. People claimed that this is a WoW clone and I have to disagree. Instead of 1 giant overworld with monsters everywhere you have dungeons. The entrance of a quest is marked and you can choose the difficulty yourself. The higher the difficulty though, the more exp you get. Once inside, most quests aren't even the standart instance you see in other MMO. Quests also contain puzzles you have to solve, traps that can only be disabled by a rogue or artificer. And runes that can only be used by caster types. Or even a door that is stuck that can only be opened with a bulky barbarian. You might not be the best damage dealer in the game but every class has its uses. Whatever you pick, in some quests you are NEEDED and WANTED. This gives the game a nice balance.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs66Rikt6TkouDZRluZHNn8mdEzHXLwI1IR5lP79kATmVobxcY1bpzfI2RXEqF1L4A428hUmbVV1bb3xEpuwoS2RQJNp-gOMojAW9bdGDzV5RT-Pgov4CzthABqyEPj8kk1NsG-ihUpd3x/s1600/ScreenShot00005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs66Rikt6TkouDZRluZHNn8mdEzHXLwI1IR5lP79kATmVobxcY1bpzfI2RXEqF1L4A428hUmbVV1bb3xEpuwoS2RQJNp-gOMojAW9bdGDzV5RT-Pgov4CzthABqyEPj8kk1NsG-ihUpd3x/s640/ScreenShot00005.jpg" width="550" /></a></div>
<b>Audio/Visual: </b>I am going to be shorter here, for the obvious reasons. Since this is a PC game graphics can be set as high or low as you want. But of course, if you don't have a high end PC like me, the higher the graphics, the lower the performance and unfortunately even the change from very low to low takes A lot of performance. If the graphics are turned to medium or higher you start to see a huge difference but it's too bad most people can't enjoy that. This game isn't very colourfull, but rather more realistic. Building's aren't all new and shiny, crypts have lots of dust and smudges and spider webs. The details are good in this game.<br />
<br />
The music for this game isn't something spectacular. They fit the theme but get boring after a while of hanging out in the same area. However, this game has something special in store for you. A DM voice, yup. There is a dood or doodette that narrates you while you walk trough a new area or enter a quest. Although I mute the music and sometimes even the battle effects I always keep the DM voice on. "The Catacombs are slightly obscured by the murky water..." You just read that in an epic deep voice. A real nice addon to this game.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Verdict: </b>Like I said before, I have been playing this game casually for a long time before I started to play more, and the reason for that is because it unfortunaly not very noob friendly. Building your character without information is hard. Grabbing the basic's, even with your PnP knowledge is hard and although people can be helpfull you really need your own experience to really get it. It takes a while to get used to but once you are in it is great.<br />
Gameplay:<br />

Nice graphics, but only for the people with higher end pc. Music also somewhat disappointing. DM is nice<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Fun Facts: DDO...</b><br />
... is free to play. You don't get acces to every race or class. And some later quests aren't available but<br />
you can become a lvl 20 character without paying once.<br />
... has a favor system. If you do enough quests you get favor which can be used to unlock certain races<br />
or classes, play enough and half of the paid content is yours without paying a cent.<br />
... can be played as a VIP with a monthly fee to gain content to everything. Want only 1 race/class<br />
or quest chain? You can also just buy that part standalone and it is yours forever without paying<br />
a monthly fee.<br />
... has a build in voice chat. No need for teamspeak to chat with your friends.<br />
... has no multiclass penalties unlike PnP DnD. Want to combine Rogue with Sorcerer and Paladin?<br />
Be my guest.<br />
<br />
If this game seems interesting to you and you want to play. I play on the Khyber server, and I play in the awesome Shadow Crusader guild.<br />

How much of a completionist are you?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-GWZc4b7xBioBbESxgaw45Q3BI2uEE6Xe6QN5GBDr-8KnzkPXyUxP5mRxNMszzSvw318uor7z07Flzf26_NjGVJmbKYj7ba1srxIz7XoQSBWAnIApzjya8jJvTP9OMZF770ySzZZonBH/s1600/achievement.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-GWZc4b7xBioBbESxgaw45Q3BI2uEE6Xe6QN5GBDr-8KnzkPXyUxP5mRxNMszzSvw318uor7z07Flzf26_NjGVJmbKYj7ba1srxIz7XoQSBWAnIApzjya8jJvTP9OMZF770ySzZZonBH/s400/achievement.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I was just a young lad we didn't have achievements... we made them ourselves blah blah rant rant...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ok, don't get me wrong on this. I am not a huge fun, and neither I am against achievement or trophies. To be honest I think they are a nice feature of today's games.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Indeed, the older games didn't have any achievements, and do you remember how awesome it felt when you finally bested the end boss? Yup, that really felt like an achievement. But if I go back to tales of Symphonia for an example. To finish the game 100% you have to make several choices trough different playtrough... the result? An awesome weapon? A secret cutscene? Some dark feature of the game developers for the next games? Nope, nothing at all, and that is were I think achievements really shine. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That' why I usually try to collect all of em. Some games preview how to unlock them, such as a small text saying, reached the highest level etc. Some are secret and give you just that extra bit of satisfaction on a game. I really liked it that I can show to friends that I collected all rare weapons in a certain game or bested a boss with no damage. That is the middle road however. There are too easy or hard achievements.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Startup the game?... achievement. Made a 2 hit combo, achievement, made a 3 hit combo, achievement. Walk around naked? Depends... anyway. You also have those way to grindy achievements. Collect 999999999999 of the currency in the game... with a max amount of 50 per battle or so this is just a matter of grinding. Beat the entire game defeating all enemies without getting damage... in 30 min.... achievement? Yeah right, I am not Asian( no offence meant bro ;) ).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To cut it short, I like achievements if they add a certain challenge to the game that is doable. Trying to get every last achievement or that platinum trophy is a good way to add gameplay time amount. But what do you guys and gals think of achievements and trophies. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>How much of a completionist are you?</b></div>

<b><br /></b><br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Name: </b>Prinny, Slaves, Vassal<br />
<b>Game: </b>Disgaea series, Makai Kingdom<br />
<b>First appeared: </b>Disgaea: Hour of Darkness<br />
<b>Alignment: </b>Differs per prinny, but normally it is chaotic neutral<br />
<b>Powers: </b>Explosive power when thrown, bag of holding which stores knives bombs and other stuff<br />
<b>Age: </b>None, they are reborn souls<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Intro:</b> A couple weeks ago I roughly finished Disgaea 4, meaning I finished the storyline and obtained most of the strongest items (Trapezohedron lvl 300 et all) and finished most bosses. What surprised me is that prinnies have a greater role in this game than the last few games (excluding the psp titles). After that I got reminded of how important these little fellows are and Uniflame urged me to review these fellah's<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Background: </b>So, what exactly is a prinny? Prinnies are disformed penguin's as you might see. Although they resemble a pinguin they are blue instead of black. They have no feet but walk on wooden legs instead, much like a pirate. They always carry a small hip bag where they store several weapons. Although the bag is small, it can fit large items so it seems their bags are <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_satchel" target="_blank">hammerspace</a>. Prinnies are also know for their trademark of saying DOOD (pronounced, dude) in every sentene. This is a rule apparently but it is never explained WHY they need to say that. You might also noticed that they have several stitches. That's because prinnies are actually souls, mostly of humans, who commited crimes. Thus they are sent to Hades to pay for their crimes. They are put into these prinny suits and have to work in heaven or hell to pay of their sins. Once done, they rise out of their suits to go to heaven.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEADb0kRwRZftJU6vfi-_DWnsskU0VXx7E6vagnzqpBq_xyV4Y5m1xKVZdGd9a9g7Nf4J_D_-66ZhvgXIkw7WKxeh9eUqn8hCL7phH9dy80-xWKoD3rILrJbbj3sPxSjq8Z72ihwzGSUnM/s1600/Prinny+Kurtis.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="161" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEADb0kRwRZftJU6vfi-_DWnsskU0VXx7E6vagnzqpBq_xyV4Y5m1xKVZdGd9a9g7Nf4J_D_-66ZhvgXIkw7WKxeh9eUqn8hCL7phH9dy80-xWKoD3rILrJbbj3sPxSjq8Z72ihwzGSUnM/s200/Prinny+Kurtis.png" width="200" /></a></div>
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Powers: </b>Prinnies are a monster class, and unfortunately they are the weakest monsters in the game. However they have several abilities that might make them into a powerfull ally anyways. First of all, prinny suits contain human souls. This is very compressed so the energy is unstable. If you throw them... they explode. Everything that is in a radius of 2 squares gets damage equal to the HP of the prinny. If there is a prinny in that radius... he explodes too, regardless of his HP. This can lead to a huge chain reaction. Prinnies carry several weapons in the bag of holding. They usually attack with 2 small daggers for fast staggering attacks, even capable of creating wind slashes due to the speed. They usually also carry small to huge bombs for obvious reasons. Next to that they get to keep 1 personally item from their past life which is usually portraited as a weird formed skull. This item keeps energy stored from which a prinny can fire a laser around him. Several unique prinnies such as Kurtis have their own attacks due to them being superhuman in their past life. Tyrant overlord baal even becomes stronger once he turned into a prinny due to the fact that the energy is compressed into a smaller form.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>Personality: </b>Prinnies are vassals, or slaves. And thus do their masters bidding. If a demon has a prinny slaves it has to do evil stuff, or laundry. If an angel has a prinny slave it has to do good deeds... or more laundry. Prinnies seldom keep the personality of their past life, except if they were extreme such as kurtis or Baal. Or, if they run out of suits, something else is created which defeats the means of really becoming a prinny like <a href="http://disgaea.wikia.com/wiki/Fuka" target="_blank">Fuka</a> from Disgaea 4. Although they are considered neutral, they are by all means chaotic and do everything to accomplish their goals, thus the chaotic part.<br />

<b>Fun Facts: Prinnies...</b><br />
... explode... I said it several times. But it is just so fun to watch these little buggers blow<br />
... are usually cowards, since they know their weaknesses well. They rather not fight.<br />
... can become quite strong. They are the leaders of the infamous Land of Carnage.<br />
... can reject their fate if strong enough and rebel. They will stay a prinny this way though.<br />

<br />
I wrote this post earlier, but when I tried to schedule it it disappeared miraculously. So I had to write the entire post again... sorry for the delay... anyways.<br />
<br />
To wrap up the Final Fantasy posts for now since I think I write too much about that I am going to check out with a post on what Fabula Nova Crystallis actually is. The title that wraps up 4 Final Fantasy games (for now).<br />
<br />
As the Title might suggest these games are build around Crystals, which is VERY original for Final Fantasy. Rougly translated it means, the new tale of the crystals. Although the games in this genre are not from the same world (such as Ivalice etc) it revolves around the fact that each world has its own crystals that fit into the same universe. This universe has the seen world ( the world of the living) and the unseen world ( the world of the deceased). All of this was created by a single god, Bhunivelze. And his story goes a bit like this.<br />
<br />
In the beginning there were 2 gods, Bhunivelze and Mwynn. Mwynn being the mother of Bhunivelze (ok... who was the father? Darth Vader?) Bhunivelze was scared of his mother who knew much more then him. Thus he decided to defeat her in battle so he could rule the universe alone. But when he did his mother went into the unseen world. Bhuni, being the scaredy cat that he is, knew that he would have to go to that world one day too.<br />
In order to escape that fate he created 3 new gods, or fal'Cie, named Etro, Lindzei and Pulse. Pulse, was given the order to terraform the world to make a place where you eventually could simply find the gate to the unseen world where presumably his mother was waiting. Knowing that he had to wait till that time he ordered Linzei to protect him while he was asleep. Etro however closely resembled his mother Mwynn and he was afraid she might follow in his mothers footsteps so he gave her no power. After that he fell asleep till his time would come.<br />
<br />
The 3 gods did their job but noticed that they couldn't do it alone and thus they did the same as Bhunivelze. Pulse created other weaker fal'Cie to help him govern his own planet named Pulse, after himself (real original). Linzei made his own continent which he named Cocoon which should be a paradise for all fal'Cie who properly did their job. Etro weeped, powerless, but unknowingly created human from her bloody tears. They inhabited Cocoon and Pulse and worked under the order of the fal'Cie. In order the help even more some humans were given power and a brand by the fal'Cie, making them a new subspecies called 'Lcie. Etro was still sad though, and unknowingly faded into the unseen world where she met Mwynn who was slowly absorbed by a power called Chaos. This power was created when Bhunivelze made the first 3 fal'Cie. Etro didn't understand the meaning of this power at first and thought to give these pieced of chaos to mankind, this would give them their hearts and take their immortality so they would eventually join Etro in the unseen world. Over time, humanity would start to worship these 3 gods. Pulse the creator, Lindzei the protector and Etro, goddes of death.<br />
<br />
You can see where this fit's in in Final Fantasy XIII 1 and 2. We don't know how this goes together with Final Fantasy Type-0 and Versus however, since they are still being developed. This myth are never told in the games so far however so when you learn this a lot of information is becoming clear when you replay the games that are out now.<br />
<br />
If you think this is TL;DR or you simply like pictures more there is also a small youtube video about this mythology. I am curious what this myth will do to the coming franchise. How about you?<br />

Console Addons<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOl7dQzfWmtBr2fhopzNpr1oH3KwKSVsKBlT0kn-caGhN-y4rDPI6qxNfTvkqvPQM7DTimNQfeklCmxXez9szFbR7JJC9raoJ6_l_R-6HohhDHzr93Gs5kkSbuXm850MB5B-8BM-tGv-d/s1600/Sega+Addons.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOl7dQzfWmtBr2fhopzNpr1oH3KwKSVsKBlT0kn-caGhN-y4rDPI6qxNfTvkqvPQM7DTimNQfeklCmxXez9szFbR7JJC9raoJ6_l_R-6HohhDHzr93Gs5kkSbuXm850MB5B-8BM-tGv-d/s320/Sega+Addons.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Last week we talked about downloadable content. Stuff that you can add to your game to make it bigger better or more hardcore (for a ridiculous price usually). That is, however, not the only thing game companies do to improve gameplay (or earn more money).<br />
<br />
I am talking about addons. stuff that you can add to your console for several reasons. Now you might know that nothing beats the sega as seen above. I never had one, but I have seen it several times on what you can do to make this a mutant of a console, I was surprised it even worked with all this stuff, forget even the cables and power you need.<br />
<br />
No, what I am talking about is the fact that I have played every Zelda game so far, except for Skyward Sword. Why? Because you need Wii motion plus.<br />
<br />
Now I understand that companies want to try something different. You have the Wii balance board for several Wii fit games etc. Xbox has its kinect while Sony uses its playstation move. These all have their own games. But why do you have to buy an addon to play the newest continuation of a game? Image if the next Sonic game uses a hometrainer to see how fast you actually run? What if you need to copy the exact moves in Kinect to play Assassin's creed.<br />
<br />
I understand that companies want to sell these things, but for me, they are an experience and they should be optional to play something that can just be played with the usual controller. But what do you think?<br />
<b>Should console addons be optional for every game?</b><br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
Btw, if you really think you can play an Assassin with kinect, watch this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/7NufHsmITjM?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">P.s. Content with Downloadable Content?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrQL7DhX_jww9OYV_Y_2gEO7T8ld3bVDrfAR6XkCWli21Bs9uUvHwQw9W_lh7Q0IaNj-Sb1NYtNhS6dJXLlhTWz0LDycfOeYyYhqOgQpyIKVkzT08WeXluxxhIjSygJ6JB82_KbeX9Df3k/s1600/DLC.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="163" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrQL7DhX_jww9OYV_Y_2gEO7T8ld3bVDrfAR6XkCWli21Bs9uUvHwQw9W_lh7Q0IaNj-Sb1NYtNhS6dJXLlhTWz0LDycfOeYyYhqOgQpyIKVkzT08WeXluxxhIjSygJ6JB82_KbeX9Df3k/s400/DLC.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Just as I am busy with a review about Fabula Nova Crystallis I turn my head towards Final Fantasy XIII-2... and shudder. Not because it isn't a good game. No sir, I am quite content with the game. I saved up several coupons in a time of financial crisis for me to still be able to get it. And I am glad I did.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">What I am not content with is the fact that I have finished it twice already, yet I never finished it. Why you ask?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>BECAUSE THE ENDING HAS YET TO COME AS DLC! </b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You read that right. Final Fantasy XIII-2 would have an ending if they just didn't come with that bit of extra scene that makes to too much of a cliffhanger to be an ending. If you finish the game with EVERYTHING you even get a special scene which taunts you even more. The point is, I thought I paid (somewhat) for a full game. Yet I have to pay one the real ending comes out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">With the way the gaming industry is these days I can imagine that you cannot live without DLC anymore. People buy less in gaming stores and buy more on-line. Expansion packs don't sell well anymore so why not make it easily available on-line? Or if some designer made a real cool outfit for one of the characters I can imagine they charge people a small amount for that.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Those are all extra's though. And I get it that you have to pay a little extra to get a little extra. Unfortunately nowadays you see more games sell in stores for 100% of the price for 80% of a game, the rest being released a couple of month's later for another 10 euro's / dollars.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Like I said before, I am willing to pay for that sexy outfit or that new sidequest with nice goodies, but what are your opinions about this.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>What is your opinion about DLC? And have you played non-complete games with DLC endings?</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">AAAAAAAANNND that was bloggiesta for me. This was the first time I participated and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Although I didn't only spend my day on blogging of course. I was able to do a lot of things but to point it out once more I'll take my list and explain it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Sit in my comfy chair and relax. REAL important</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Although I had some problems with some residental stuff here I was able to enjoy my weekend while participating in Bloggiesta.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Try to upgrade the layout. The header is nice but that's about it</b>.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I wasn't able to update the header unfortunatly since I am not a photoshop expert but I might have a friend who can do it for me later. Other improvements are colours of the links etc. Overal the layout is simple and I heard people would like to keep it that way so that's about it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Reorganize tags. My tagcloud is a mess.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Updated all tags and cleaned my tagcloud. Futhermore I now have a template on how to tag specific posts so tagging will be easier.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Learn how to schedule posts.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">A no brainer, but I seriously didn't know how to do this 'till Uniflame pointed out the little button below called post options. Baka me</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Search other gaming blogs where I can learn from.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I wasn't really succesfull here. Someone was supposed to post me some stuff but didn't get a reply anymore. Most game reviewers are professionals though which don't really mingle with me. I will try to get more people though.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Compete in challenges. Blogging is also a game ;)</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And I did... I have no idea if I won anything but personally I don't care. Most of these things really helped me out so my blog is better now. Might not be a #1 but I am still a winner of this game.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Make new pages so I can index my posts.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Another no brainer which I completely forgot before Bloggiesta. But I am glad I did. Besides my own post I also made a page for other contacts which might list future friend bloggers.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Learn about blogloving. </b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It is not really something for me. Since I follow so few blog's so it isn't really worthwhile for me. On the other hand, if people want to follow me now they can trough the blogloving button on the right.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Making templates for posts to make my life even easier.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And saved them. This is really easy, from now on I only need to copy it and fill it in. Real easy.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Update the sidebars, and shave the sideburns.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I don't like big sidebars anyway but I changed the order so people can find the important stuff more easily. I also shaved the entire weekend but the sideburn come back anyways. An endless battle for a man.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Making banner for specific returning posts (optional)</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">A no for me. Like I said, I am not the photoshop expert and thus I didn't get to do this. But alas, that friend might still help me out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Make my own favicon</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This was an old challenge but I never thought about it before. Everything is better then the lame blogger one.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Get a like button under every post.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Don't like it? Don't click it. But I am glad I did so this gets easier for people to simply LIKE.</div><br />
<br />
I also did some other things such as improving reviews with a verdict and giving people an indication on how long a game actually is. I stay away from the price of a game since it changes fast over time sometimes and it also varies per region. If you have any other idea's on how to improve a review though I would appreciate if you let me know.<br />
<br />
On a final note. I will post a weekly question as always but since I am still kind of busy I will refrain from restricting myself with poster a review every week. Blogging is supposed to be fun and no slavework for myself. That being said. I really enjoyed Bloggiesta and I will prolly join the next one too. See you guys next time :DZeronichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11076780267198718119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443645307865469254.post-11820878998118925992012-04-01T17:30:00.000+02:002012-04-15T11:29:59.530+02:00Lightning, Soldier and Guardian of Time<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHz61zDwiRn3HFG1DItxZbJWMwt4IG7MGKTXcredynXw2DIJJOWh9truU8o7D4jLj-FY09JChpr0WinkHcqoxlRQCUbGAX6PRCDRjeXhrnjRX9Pz-0zRFgRXeCnGsu3jP2_mLix1pVlMDx/s1600/Lightning.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHz61zDwiRn3HFG1DItxZbJWMwt4IG7MGKTXcredynXw2DIJJOWh9truU8o7D4jLj-FY09JChpr0WinkHcqoxlRQCUbGAX6PRCDRjeXhrnjRX9Pz-0zRFgRXeCnGsu3jP2_mLix1pVlMDx/s320/Lightning.PNG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><b>Name: </b>Lightning, Claire Farron<br />
<b> Game: </b>Final Fantasy XIII 1&2<br />
<b> First appeared: </b>Final Fantasy XIII<br />
<b> Alignment: </b>Chaotic good<br />
<b> Powers: </b>Gun-blade proficiency, anti-gravity, magic and summoning.<br />
<b> Age: </b>21<br />
<br />
<b> Intro:</b> Since this week I will post a lot about Final Fantasy, lets start out with character that's real important in this universe. Actually, it is a main character, something I rather not post about since there is usually already a alot of info on these characters. However, Lightning is quite new and thus I can tell a lot.<br />
<br />
<b> Background: </b>Lightning is an orphan, having no parents, but only a sister called Serah. Not a lot is know about her childhood. The only thing know at this point of time is that she joined the army at a young age. Psicom wasn't her place though so she became part of the Bodhum's protection force under Amodar. She also takes care of her younger sister. Due to the combination of these things she becomes very strict and almost doesn't show any emotion. She is however very caring and opposes everyone who stands in her way of protecting people. When Serah turns out to be a L'Cie she gets very angry at first since she got to know this on her birthday. "Worst birthday EVER," she said. When Serah gets captured though she immediately follows to rescue her. Due to this even Lightning becomes a L'Cie as well. In Final Fantasy XIII-2 she also plays a main character. There she is the guardian of the goddess Etro and the protector of time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1t3lxWCI5-9FOTdlsR5zRUjDUlA5KEs9mnlShcT1xodDhyphenhyphenFObvmMwJ80U2wJSWpzYolMgvGLpK2ONlEFpb3kgWrzWto6eyAE16n-7oJZDlLYk2fistAHV-s-c_CJPkgb2euplUNT65M6M/s1600/Lightning+Odin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1t3lxWCI5-9FOTdlsR5zRUjDUlA5KEs9mnlShcT1xodDhyphenhyphenFObvmMwJ80U2wJSWpzYolMgvGLpK2ONlEFpb3kgWrzWto6eyAE16n-7oJZDlLYk2fistAHV-s-c_CJPkgb2euplUNT65M6M/s400/Lightning+Odin.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<b> Powers: </b>Lightning starts out as a soldier, wielding a gun-blade. She is proficient with any kind of gun and blade though, showing to be easily wielding the weapons of Odin and other sorts of guns. Next to that, she also has a shoulder pad which she can use to defy gravity for a short period of time.<br />
When Lightning becomes a L'Cie she is able to use a bit of healing magic and augment her sword strikes with magic such as Thunder, Blizzard and Fire. Her main focus lies around the Thunder magic though. Later on she learns to summon Odin. She can use him as an ally to attack together or she can mount Odin in his Gestalt form while she wields his 2 massive blades. This combination leads to the ultimate attack called Zantetsuken.<br />
Her standalone ultimate is called Army of One. With this attack she unleashes a furry of blows at high speed, greatly boosting the chain gauge and doing mediocre damage.<br />
When Lightning becomes the guardian of the Goddess she gained even more power. She gets to keep all of her previous abilities but augmented at great strength. She also seems to be able to fly, summon meteors and control the flow of time in some way. As a guardian Lightning also possesses a shield.<br />

<br />
<b> Personality: </b>Like said before, Lightning is an orphan and due to the responsibility she needed to carry at an early age she is stubborn, strict and easily to anger. She has a narrowed view on things, thinking that her way around things are the most practical, even sacrificing other things because of it. She hardly bonds, and if someone disagrees or can't keep up, she leaves, thinking she can manage alone. Although she is sturdy, she gives up quickly, easily accepting defeat.<br />
After certain event's she tries to understand people more and sacrifice more of her own effort to help others. She still has trouble bonding to people though.<br />
Although she doesn't seem like the most lovable person in the game she truly has compassion, although hardly noticeable<br />
<br />

</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Intro: </b>Like I said I would, I was going to go into Fabula Nova Crystallis, the story that revolves around Final Fantasy, XIII-1/2, Type-0 and Versus XIII. Since we should probably start with what we have lets begin with XIII-1. The first game released for this story. Although it doesn't tell much about the story of Fabula Nova Crystallis it is a great game to kick off. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Story: </b>The Story begins somewhat abrubt. After a scene where 1 woman kicks ass and doesn't chew bubblegum you are thrown into battle. It seems the character you control is someone named Lightning, and aloth with that, Sazh, the guy with the afro hair with a chocobo chick in it. Along in this area you get to know Snow, the leader of the rebellion called Nora. Vanille, a very optimistic girl, seeing the situation they are in. And Hope, a child that can't take all this violance anymore and whines quite a lot.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">After some playtime with all of them you meet Serah, Lightning's sister and apparently the fiancée of Snow. She turns to Crystal just when you meet though. Turns out there are Semi Gods in this world called Fall Cie.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">They have the power to turn human's into L'cie. Fullfill your task and you turn to Crystal forever. Fail? You are turned into a horrible monster called a Cieth'. Needless to say, if you are branded you are out of luck, and as it turns out every partymember gets branded as a L'Cie by a Fal Cie of an opposing planet called Pulse. Now branded traitors by the government you have to save yourself and try to break this cursed system of the Fall Cie on the planet Pulse and your own planet called Cocoon.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HcU9sVGyP6g20Zffqs23s31kYgbapDMv_ZptL2IOKc1Pilv-FHwNpLHK21Nnp_l4NAxynUqlivWCIT18ROE2zLFEwBMz1szqY8Q4rmnrJNWOc190p3scSi84kip5goTUIVjZv5uAjieb/s1600/928790_20100214_screen003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HcU9sVGyP6g20Zffqs23s31kYgbapDMv_ZptL2IOKc1Pilv-FHwNpLHK21Nnp_l4NAxynUqlivWCIT18ROE2zLFEwBMz1szqY8Q4rmnrJNWOc190p3scSi84kip5goTUIVjZv5uAjieb/s400/928790_20100214_screen003.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Gameplay: </b>This game uses the familiar ATB bar again just like in older Final Fantasies like 8 and 12. However, it has segments this time. You start up with 2 segment but you can end up with a total of 6. You can fill every segments with an action such as attack or fire or cure. Stronger attack's such as blitz, Blizzaga and Haste fill up more bars because they are stronger. This way you can fill the gauge with a combination of attacks to defeat your enemy. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">However, you mainly use auto attack in this game. If you scan your opponent trough the use of libra or a librascope you learn the weaknesses of your enemy yourself. Auto batlle automatically chooses the right option for you. Due to the low amount of skills you sttart out with you are sadly beginning the first 1/4 of the game only pressing X/A to auto battle which might be quite boring.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">You control only 1 Character in game. To at least have some control over battle this game introduces paradigm shift. Every character isn't stuck to 1 roll although they usually excell in something. You have Commander(physical attack), Ravanger (magic), Medic (heals), Saboteur (debuff), Synergist (buffs), Sentinel (defense). In a paradigm deck you can make 6 combinations of these. You can make medic medic medic for quick heals, Commander Ravanger Ravanger for fast damage. Every time you shift in battle you switch to a deck that you need at the moment, instead of choosing what actions you make, instead you are mainly choosing what roles you need at a certain point in battle, making it really fast paced.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Outside of battle is a bit boring I have to say. The main problem with this game is that it is VERY linear. Chapter 11/12 is the first one where you can explore, the rest of the game you are spent following a certain path. Combined with the easy early auto battle this game starts of slowly.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtsyNZicmUMPmcpXgtkDSVhBfUueQ4Y8Kc9gDCadscuHnOP5ViZVQBlQocBIgNMTAKGYughWVDDseeN2nyZRF_AYiuJZpp5eaj_Y4pB5bYi758H5tM9lQtZ5nn74OavAJSlhT88ANltwgO/s1600/928790_20100301_screen017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtsyNZicmUMPmcpXgtkDSVhBfUueQ4Y8Kc9gDCadscuHnOP5ViZVQBlQocBIgNMTAKGYughWVDDseeN2nyZRF_AYiuJZpp5eaj_Y4pB5bYi758H5tM9lQtZ5nn74OavAJSlhT88ANltwgO/s400/928790_20100301_screen017.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Audio/Visual: </b>With this game being the first on the next gen console the graphics really jump out of your screen. The opening video takes you away and the good part is. IT DOESN'T END. The graphics stay the same, in battle or viewing a scene, it doesn't matter at all. Even the texture of the clothes the people are wearing is made in great detail. Every area you visit has some remarkable contents. Varying from a dark dump to a vast green field with lots of animals flying or walking around. Graphics wise this game set a new tone for a Final Fantasy Game.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The soundtrack this time isn't made by Nobuo Uematsu, and you can notice it. This game has lots of orchestral music, even in the battle theme. There are also lots of soundtrack's with vocal's this time, even during gameplay. Luckily they don't have the overtone so there is quite a balance between gameplay, graphics and music here. Too bad I can't forgive them for not having the classical victory tune though. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4mCdEimUkVDxeeZHgyiLDMYWo9D1-vY8ibOJn7A7cOAWLizJQo_zpIBtcNB2-kbHGkTJsKS2lQdRyKyDXoUsAybHMdlHqRsv5z2lcPMKmJXAS2x4VrAJJYOuDFOPA0uDRgl9-r3UWdF44/s1600/928790_20100214_screen015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4mCdEimUkVDxeeZHgyiLDMYWo9D1-vY8ibOJn7A7cOAWLizJQo_zpIBtcNB2-kbHGkTJsKS2lQdRyKyDXoUsAybHMdlHqRsv5z2lcPMKmJXAS2x4VrAJJYOuDFOPA0uDRgl9-r3UWdF44/s400/928790_20100214_screen015.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b><br />
</b></div><div class="" style="clear: both;"><b>Verdict: </b>I really enjoyed this game, even though it was quite linear. I like going to places I shouldn't be and getting stronger items before fighting the main boss. Being stuck with sucky characters sometimes made it even harder but the story, the music and graphics all made it good for me. To be honest I even replayed it once more.</div><div class="" style="clear: both;">Gameplay:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUGsVY9xSvcRnbYTAxdHicsWSlyjPYIxzSvzc-Vo0tfQ1lmsOFk-_IAeCBI2NV1oVfEq4vq7WBcz1ZpTcnRWlq9DS1CfrDm4aKzRWUwflweYuPld4wdL1NkD4Ej6VvabLC4Yvi7pQYvNv3/s1600/Star.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUGsVY9xSvcRnbYTAxdHicsWSlyjPYIxzSvzc-Vo0tfQ1lmsOFk-_IAeCBI2NV1oVfEq4vq7WBcz1ZpTcnRWlq9DS1CfrDm4aKzRWUwflweYuPld4wdL1NkD4Ej6VvabLC4Yvi7pQYvNv3/s1600/Star.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a></div><div class="" style="clear: both;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaE0gcDVPyB3nWYB9rBUdUyYeB3eFJ0Mnh7iYS0d9aM9cbxxVK64mdiK7xls355BBr4hHVW-vFd4Gzjir_fxAE4OnmyXvyAOg3pZBLM7dO7aG2OO0oufmvE9gk7pl5YlT957tlTZPsa27Y/s1600/4+Star.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaE0gcDVPyB3nWYB9rBUdUyYeB3eFJ0Mnh7iYS0d9aM9cbxxVK64mdiK7xls355BBr4hHVW-vFd4Gzjir_fxAE4OnmyXvyAOg3pZBLM7dO7aG2OO0oufmvE9gk7pl5YlT957tlTZPsa27Y/s1600/4+Star.JPG" /></a></div><div class="" style="clear: both;">Story:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pG4TpQxl71fL7lN7KWDTA4N5FXgjBKAB5jZ3izwvPaEE0tDYLXv5IEb4Jad6yXRNfhWIPGlPFESa4rDwTbcecfAQxZenGQ4lvARXvFXzWW8t4oH-yt_vKsuCJ6JFo_Ws9NESAmvgUGoS/s1600/5+Star.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3pG4TpQxl71fL7lN7KWDTA4N5FXgjBKAB5jZ3izwvPaEE0tDYLXv5IEb4Jad6yXRNfhWIPGlPFESa4rDwTbcecfAQxZenGQ4lvARXvFXzWW8t4oH-yt_vKsuCJ6JFo_Ws9NESAmvgUGoS/s1600/5+Star.JPG" /></a></div><div class="" style="clear: both;">Audio/Visuals:</div><div class="" style="clear: both;"><br />

Here there gamers.<br />
<br />
I would like to give you all a small update during this bloggiesta weekend. First of all, you might have noticed that the layout has changed a bit. This might continue over the course of the weekend. I might also enjoy a beer and not do it at all. We will see.<br />
Besides that, on the top left you can now see a PAGES tab. You can now find older post back more easily. Everything to make your life easier.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf6_ymRnlaYEa66Ff8Q1vOgWPTj4pw60RPseV2DFlKthnKgaP4W3aPdSM-_aIkUJ5iVtMxw8OjPmAx7TgPYC_MgoUpK7Rz-crFFBa9EZ77SGIgwMo9cTSYq4U7_23dph_v-E1NiZnuq8HW/s1600/levelUP.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="156" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf6_ymRnlaYEa66Ff8Q1vOgWPTj4pw60RPseV2DFlKthnKgaP4W3aPdSM-_aIkUJ5iVtMxw8OjPmAx7TgPYC_MgoUpK7Rz-crFFBa9EZ77SGIgwMo9cTSYq4U7_23dph_v-E1NiZnuq8HW/s200/levelUP.png" width="200" /></a></div>Last but not least, I am working on a template to include more info in all reviews. I have many idea's that might be used but I have to brainstorm some more first. One of the things that I am going to do is rate every game on several levels at the end of a review by giving it 1 out of 5 in several aspects. Expect to see this little fellah from now on in every review<br />

Since I have quite a new blog I have a lot to learn and a lot to do. Luckily my girlfriend Uniflame give me lots of tips on what I can do, so it might be that this list will become bigger over time. Also, list might differ from other lists since I have a gaming blog and most of you guys have a book blog.<br />
<br />
So far my to do list looks a little something like this.<br />
<br />
<ul><li>Sit in my comfy chair and relax. REAL important</li>
<li><strike>Try to upgrade the layout. The header is nice but that's about it.</strike></li>
<li><strike>Reorganize tags. My tagcloud is a mess.</strike></li>
<li><strike>Learn how to schedule posts</strike></li>
<li>Search other gaming blogs where I can learn from.</li>
<li>Compete in challenges. Blogging is also a game ;)</li>
<li><strike>Make new pages so I can index my posts</strike></li>
<li><strike>Learn about blogloving</strike></li>
<li><strike>Making templates for posts to make my life even easier</strike></li>
<li><strike>Update the sidebars, and shave the sideburns</strike></li>
<li>Making banner for specific returning posts (optional)</li>
<li><strike>Make my own favicon]</strike></li>
<li><strike>Get a like button under every post</strike></li>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Heey everyone, long time no see, unfortunatly.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A small update from me why I didn't post anything for the past time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">First of all, I had become sick, due to a lot of stress due to government issues I had a serious breakdown, barely able to do just about anything. Walking to the doctor, which is 5 min from here, was a challenge. You can probably understand that coming up with blogposts is also hard.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">2 nd of all, my grandfather, who is the closest thing to a dad I have, nearly died. He was diagnosed braindead in the hospital and given only 5% chance to live. Luckily he took that chance and he is almost his old self. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Last but not least, money issues, which goes with governmental issues, made it so that buying games or finding time to play games was also quite hard, thus I had no writing material. BUT! I am back, and I am going to participate in bloggiesta to upgrade this blog and get back in to action.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Basically, Bloggiesta is a weekend where bloggers all over the world share their knowledge and improve their own blogs. You can also compete in blogging challenges, write posts for upcoming days or just make new friends trough your blog.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Since my blog is kinda new, I can learn a lot from it and thus I am going to participate. If you also have a blog and would like to learn stuff, visit <b><a href="http://sueysbooks.blogspot.com/2012/03/bloggiesta-participants-sign-up-here.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: white;">this page</span></a> </b>and read the rules.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A sneak peek for this weekend, information about Final Fantasy Fabula Nova Crystallis is coming up, as well as a review about Disgaea and of course some other random stuff.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Looking forward to lounge with you again, or taking a gaming siesta.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<b>Name:</b> Recettear – An Item Shop’s Tale<br />
<b>Developer:</b> EasyGameStation<br />
<b>Year:</b> 2007<br />
<b>Platform:</b> PC<br />
<b>Genre:</b> Action Role Playing Game, Simulation Game<br />
<br />
You know all those item shops you run into in various RPGs to get your food, gear and whatnot? Well this game is played from behind the counter of such an item shop. Recette is a naïve, easy going, optimistic but a bit of lazy girl who lives alone since her father left. She hasn’t worked a single day in her life, living from edible<br />
herbs she found until a fairy named Tear notifies Recette that she will lose her house if she isn’t able to pay back her father’s debt. Because Recette has no income at all, Tear offers her to help set up an item shop so Recette can work, and earning money to pay the debt. That is as far as the plot goes, basically. The rest is all based on character interaction and the game is full of funny sketches.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGifeLrCMs6OzMqTWJcUFVdSQiCV1stvfBVCkpam3wgQ0ltqf6lZplHMKyhfRtA8Zy7QW1iYJfrUG-TQMrqAdmiwIEd7APfp0bQ5TSpepUw58A9bKXdBPtsp3ebKRONYBZMHTOSrPh4sAQ/s1600/recettear-kawaii.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGifeLrCMs6OzMqTWJcUFVdSQiCV1stvfBVCkpam3wgQ0ltqf6lZplHMKyhfRtA8Zy7QW1iYJfrUG-TQMrqAdmiwIEd7APfp0bQ5TSpepUw58A9bKXdBPtsp3ebKRONYBZMHTOSrPh4sAQ/s320/recettear-kawaii.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">In game you control mainly Recette. You go out shopping for items in the village, stock your shop and sell your items to meet your weekly payment. This may sound boring, but it is strangely addicting. You have many interactions with people and the will all try to haggle with you. Some people will pay more for your items than others and because items increase and decrease in value or popularity, running your shop efficient isn’t as easy as it sounds.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiseEjI8qzWbgiDlagUCB7Z3_yl7oqn00AC_hlbsEV7OEl61aqKJNyMUPfDForsT2F0uC393wE8pBPt1r0Y-Ut7YN3MWS2UJ685XQjpAsb86qHBfCPO9spb7q7husVIHajXuz3pz06HAzAE/s1600/recettear-2010-09-12-08-43-01-82.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiseEjI8qzWbgiDlagUCB7Z3_yl7oqn00AC_hlbsEV7OEl61aqKJNyMUPfDForsT2F0uC393wE8pBPt1r0Y-Ut7YN3MWS2UJ685XQjpAsb86qHBfCPO9spb7q7husVIHajXuz3pz06HAzAE/s320/recettear-2010-09-12-08-43-01-82.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">You can also hire several adventurers to explore dungeons for treasure, which you can then sell in your shop. In a dungeon you control the adventurer instead of Recette. You see all the monster on the map and you just kill them as you go. There are several dungeons and they are all full of traps. This is a nice addition to the game, but in my opinion you lose too much time compared to what you gain, and this will make it harder to reach the mark for your weekly payments. If you happen to fail to make your weekly payment, you have to start again from the beginning, but you will keep all your items you own that moment and your current levels. This is the case for your level as a seller and the levels of your adventurers. If you have finished the game there are several more options. You can play in free mode, just running the shop without weekly payments, or start a new game plus. Before you know it you will be hooked and have spent many hours playing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_BsAxu6skA9EXGmrzsQsHEnEMqgGFR7X9On9i9QCl9JLMOSmOAyiB-o1Xl2mnW4y15VWI_US_4caKkcIn3vce36DmnD0a2PIqU3mrqaSBNuaROd36buEOVJHj2FTiOnowZPtVioV3Rl_/s1600/recettear1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_BsAxu6skA9EXGmrzsQsHEnEMqgGFR7X9On9i9QCl9JLMOSmOAyiB-o1Xl2mnW4y15VWI_US_4caKkcIn3vce36DmnD0a2PIqU3mrqaSBNuaROd36buEOVJHj2FTiOnowZPtVioV3Rl_/s320/recettear1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br />

Around the world. WRPG vs. JRPG<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sitsam.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/RPG-vs-PRG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="143" src="http://www.sitsam.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/RPG-vs-PRG.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Last week our friend Fhant gave me the question, where will JRPG and WRPG's end up? If the above post doesn't say enough to you yet, I will explain the difference between the 2 first.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If you, the reader, after all this time, still don't know what an RPG is you can roll a d20 and see if I hit you or not -_-. Role Playing Games have become a big part of the gaming industry these days and all over the world there is an entire battle over this type of game. Which faction will win? Is it the WESTERN RPG? These are games such as dragon age or oblivion, usually darker type of games with a hero you make yourself. How he or she looks and how she acts is all up to you. Most of the setting's are slightly based on Dungeons and Dragons, except perhaps, for the futuristic games such as mass effect. Still the concept is the same. A lot too choose from and you can mix all kinds of things.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">In the other corner, JAPANESE RPG! The most famous titles are things such as Final Fantasy or Pokemon. The japanese were actually first with the RPG genre and most games from this time are still based on the older games. Colourfull area's, strange magic creatures never seen before (not the typical dragons and troll's) and characters with STRANGE outfit's (or hair... typically japanese) that fit in a generic roll, the healer, the spellcaster etc.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now that I explained this to you, the real question stays. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Where do you think these game genre's end up?</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Personally I think that over time the line between Western and Eastern games will go away. You see, even now, that some WRPG take over Japanese elements and vise versa. It will be either that or the next World War will be about the difference of these 2 games. Start hating haters!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.creativeuncut.com/webcomic/pixies-pub/pp0084-wrpg-vs-jrpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="http://www.creativeuncut.com/webcomic/pixies-pub/pp0084-wrpg-vs-jrpg.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><b>Name: </b>Garland<br />
<b>Game: </b>Final Fantasy<br />
<b>Alignment: </b>Chaotic Evil<br />
<b>Power: </b>Brute Strenght<br />
<b>Age: </b>Unknown<br />
<br />
From the World famous RPG I bring you, the first endboss of the series, Garland. A dark knight of sorts with brute strengt and a simple plan to take over the world. Although not the most strong of all endbosses he gains godlike power. A force to be reckoned with or something to put on your bread.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWWIhVJug2M8ajRvUep0OwphpImgEEHTqo199wU7Ov_MqZjsPP-jmc744-hWRTywE0N7lxG7ZmeEfhwOIwv4TibNoaZeAmoaY9r8J8upwnFkeOl2XosJiCM4-lGsVmcWZF4A2LnFCaiJWT/s1600/264104_medium.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWWIhVJug2M8ajRvUep0OwphpImgEEHTqo199wU7Ov_MqZjsPP-jmc744-hWRTywE0N7lxG7ZmeEfhwOIwv4TibNoaZeAmoaY9r8J8upwnFkeOl2XosJiCM4-lGsVmcWZF4A2LnFCaiJWT/s320/264104_medium.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Like I said before, Garland is the main antagonist from the first Final Fantasy. Originally he is a knight from the land of Cornelia. He was a much respected knight till he kidnapped princess Sarah. His demands? Becoming the king in exchange for life of the princess. The warrior's of light rescued her thought and defeated our villain. Though presumed dead, it seems that he instead was sent to the past. Due to this timetravel he created a time loop around himself, thus making him immortal. With this power he turned himself in the god Chaos. The warrior's, again, battled him and prevailed, ending his life. This is not the last time he will be seen though.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Garland returns in the Dissindia series as one of the main antagonist. Although not in god form anymore Garland is surprisingly strong and gained some new abilities.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">He can be seen as a berserker, having almost no magical abilities or ranged attacks, and thus, he only uses his "sword" in battle. Although his weapon looks like a greatsword, it is actually a shapeshifting weapon with bad cutting capabilities. Besides the standart greatsword form it can change into an axe, a spear, 2 shortswords or a flail. Garland is able to change his weapon in mere seconds, changing styles during battle to adept to the situation. This makes him a capable opponent. Garlands is, however, still slow as hell and thus easy to evade.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110219090449/finalfantasy/images/thumb/f/f6/Dissidia-GarlandSword.png/221px-Dissidia-GarlandSword.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110219090449/finalfantasy/images/thumb/f/f6/Dissidia-GarlandSword.png/221px-Dissidia-GarlandSword.png" width="216" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Garland's personality doesn't show itself much during Final Fantasy 1. The only this you get to know there is that he craves power more then anything is is quite fond of battles and war. Due to the time loop he got to see lots of battles and thus he understands his role in a war very well, and enjoys every bit of it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It is also noted that Garland is quite arrogant and he thinks he superior in every way, although he gets defeated every time, even as a god.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Fun Facts! Assassin's Creed<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://fusible.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/assassins-creed-movie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="http://fusible.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/assassins-creed-movie.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Name: </b> Assassin's Creed</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Developer: </b>Ubisoft</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Year: </b>2007</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Platform: </b>Xbox360, Playstation 3, Pc.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Genre: </b>Action Adventure</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My year started real busy... and also really broke. So no new game for me yet. Instead, a collegue and a friend of mine who attended my new years party brought me a nice package I could borrow. Assassin's Creed 1,2 and Brotherhood. Since I was also kind of a Prince of Persia fan I thought I would like this, thus I started with 1.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Assassin's Creed is a game that takes place in 2 timelines. The first one you get to know about is the timeline of Desmond. This guy is part of some assassin's family and has been captured by a research facility. It seems our main character has dna which has the memories of his ancestors who were all Assassin's. One of his ancestors apparently has something they need and you need to play trough all the memories of your ancestor to find what they need. In order to acces that memory they use machine called the Animus.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Once you go into the Animus you play trough a specific memory in order to learn what happened during your ancestor's time and to get closer to the memory our doctors need. Once you control your ancestor, called Altair, you are an assassin with all it's skills and weaponry. With those tools you need to assassinate several people, in order of the Brotherhood. This Brotherhood says they do this in the name of peace. However, as you progress the game you discover a dark secret.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Once you are logged in into the animus you can see a few things on the screen. On the bottom left you see a small square with some symbols, these correspond to directions on the D-Pad. Up selects the Hidden Blade, a small weapon used for stealth assassinations. Right selects the sword, your strongest weapon during combat. Down selects fists if you need to beat someone up but not kill them yet. Left selects the short blade, a small weapon which is quick in combat but not quite as strong. Also, if you are not in combat, you can thrown small throwing knives to end a life from a distance. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Next to this you also see a bar at the top right. This is your synchronization bar and shows how well Desmond is in synch with Altair. If he takes too much damage you lose your synchro and thus need to start from the last (auto) savepoint. Your health goes up if you do more missions and side missions. In short, it is just your health bar.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Finally left from the synchro bar you can see the Abstergo logo. When it is white, you are anonymous and can practically do whatever you want. However, the logo changes colour in different situations. When you are being chased or noticed by the guards, it is red. When Hiding it is blue and so on. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Finally the bottom right displays the minimap where you can see all missions and sidemissions.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2007/140/930022_20070521_screen002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2007/140/930022_20070521_screen002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Graphic wise I think this is a great game. It takes place in the middle east and thus you don't see lot's of colours in this game. However, every person/ building/ environment has been made in great detail, almost showing no flaws in designs.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This game doesn't have any music. Instead ou mostly hear the murmering of every citizen of the 4 places you visit. At first it is interesting what every citizen has to say but it gets real repetitive after a while. Almost everyone has the same line and after 2 or 3 hours in game you know every line of what a citizen is going to say.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Overall this game is a nice way to spend your time. But if you are a completionist like me you are going to have a hard time. Not because it becomes impossibly hard to do all side missions but because everything is exactly the same. Only your normal missions include something new or important to the storyline. Next to that, there is no real reward in doing all side missions except for some lousy achievements on the Xbox version.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And last but not least, although it isn't hard to complete all side missions, you are annoyed to death by every drunk /beggar that walk around town that seem to only target their annoyance to you instead of every other frigging citizen. It just really ruins the overall feeling of this game</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Fun Facts: Assassin's Creed...</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">... has some similarities with Prince of Persia, which isn't strange since it is made by the same team.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">... takes place around 2010 and 1190 respectively.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">... has main characters who are based on real people from around that time. Only a couple of people </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> are imaginary.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">... has some hints about the apocaliptic year 2012. It seems the Templars will do something to us in </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> that year.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">... beggar's should DIE!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Next Gen Gaming<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.halolz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/halolz-dot-com-sony-playstationmove-stealorinnovate.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="http://www.halolz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/halolz-dot-com-sony-playstationmove-stealorinnovate.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You might have noticed that there was no character review last Monday. Due to circumstances I was way too tired to even cook or anything so that character has to wait till next wait. In the meantime I come with a new question for you guys.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Game companies look for new ways to make money every day, and to do that, you have to innovate. Come with something new. A good example of this is the Wii. While Microsoft and Sony came with a better console graphics wise, Nintendo came with a complete new form of gameplay. Although it doesn't always appeal the usual customers new people are drawn to this, thus giving the company more money to spend on new things.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now, as a gamer I don't mind experimenting but I think sometimes companies go a bit over the edge.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I am taking Nintendo as an example again. The 3DS to be exact. I know that 3D is shiny and all that but does that really add something to the gaming experience. How about people who are partially blind? They can't play those games. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">How about games on the balance board. Sure, Wii fit is the game for the entire family but isn't your money better spent on new games that don't involve new controllers/gameplay.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Although the above image shows that Sony only copies, I can also blame microsoft with Kinect. After all, Eye Toy was here first right?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">To summarize all this. My opinion about all this next gen consoles is quite obivious. Rubbish, I rather have a new game with ingame innovations then a new controller style, but what do you think.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>What should the next gen of games include? Back to basics with newer and better games? Or a different style of gameplay?</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Leave a comment about your opinion below or reply on Facebook/Twitter. And if you have a question for next week let me know </div>Zeronichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11076780267198718119noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443645307865469254.post-15363725883590308332012-01-06T15:16:00.001+01:002012-04-01T15:03:04.673+02:00The Apocalyptic takeover by Fhant: a review of Borderlands.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

Hello?! Hmm… comfy chair…<br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>So what’s in store?<o:p></o:p></b></div><div class="MsoNormal">You play a fortune hunter (One of four classes, we get to that later) who is searching for the Vault on Pandora. An alien planet that is pretty much desolate and filled with critters and people who are up to no good. You as a fortune seeker needs to complete quests in order to get closer to the Vault.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>Classes.<o:p></o:p></b></div><div class="MsoNormal">The fortune hunters are pretty much based on 4 classes. Tank, Rogue, Hunter and Heavy damage.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">At the start of the game, players select one of four characters, each with a unique special skill and with proficiencies with certain weapons. The four characters are: Roland the Soldier(Heavy damage), Mordecai the Hunter, Lilith the Siren(Rogue), and Brick (a Berserker) "as himself".<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Brick has the most HP and his special ability is the Beserker fury. He can punch the lights out of anyone in this mode and kick ass and take names in this mode.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">Lilith can “Phasewalk” as a rogues stealth ability. This makes it very easy to bypass people or even lead them in a ambush.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">Mordecai has his pet Bloodwing (A hawk-like creature) he can send in to kill people.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">Roland has a turret with shield he can hide behind to deal more damage from the front.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>Style.<o:p></o:p></b></div><div class="MsoNormal">The game is cell-shaded and is a First person Shooter. This means you do not get to clearly see your character. However, in multiplayer, other people can see your character that has a other color scheme. You can upgrade your character with certain trees such as a Medic Tree for Roland and a Assassin tree for Lilith. <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://images.fpsguru.com/features/16/BL2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://images.fpsguru.com/features/16/BL2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal"><o:p><br />
</o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><o:p><br />
</o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>Gameplay.<o:p></o:p></b></div><div class="MsoNormal">Since I only played it on the PC, the controls are simple. Aim with mouse, click to shoot.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">But this game throws in something special. Upgrades! Not just any upgrades, Elemental upgrades. You got Fire, Explosive, Shock and Poison bullets for the gun you use. Other than that, the game has a rating system in gray/white, green, blue, purple and orange to mark the value of the guns (Grey being the most common and orange the most uncommon).<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">Also you do not gain any stats with a level up but after level 5 you have access to a special skill tree for your class to play with. Here you have 3 options that differ between the Fortune Seekers.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">Of course you are being guided in the game by a quirky little Robot called CL4P-TR4P. Yes, Cl4p-tr4p. At the start he will help you out and inform you on things, like where to get ammo and weapons and where to heal up. After that you follow a Voice. It is unknown who she is, but all she can tell you is that she will help you.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>Final verdict.<o:p></o:p></b></div><div class="MsoNormal">You could see this as a game that had a head-on crash with Science fiction with Steam-punk elements in the tail. But is has some funny jokes and a smooth gameplay. Even the 4 DLC’s that are out now, are pretty enjoyable.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">If you are interested in this game for the PC, it’s obtainable via Steam for €29,99!!<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Oh, I hear him coming!! Err… Bye!! And don’t tell him I sat in his chair okay?<o:p></o:p></div>Zeronichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11076780267198718119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443645307865469254.post-73897954166837548902012-01-04T10:42:00.001+01:002012-04-01T15:02:08.913+02:00Question of the week. Holidays gave me?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.geekoftheday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/portal-game-xmas-present.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://www.geekoftheday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/portal-game-xmas-present.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Holidays are sadly over. And thus I start writing again ^_^. I hope you had a nice Christmas celebrated the new year with lots of friends. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">To start the year with ease I am not going to ask you some silly philosophical question about games. In stead of that I am going to ask you, reader,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>What games or game related stuff did you get for the Holidays?</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">No I did not get portal 2 for xmas. What I did get was this from <a href="http://thegeekshow.co.uk/" target="_blank">The Geekshow</a>:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/374289_242024632536924_100001881660845_611053_1582681189_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/374289_242024632536924_100001881660845_611053_1582681189_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My work gave me a useless Christmas package, like they almost always do. However, they also gave me some coupons which I can use at the <i>Gamemania. </i> My friend <a href="http://fhantwrites.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Fhant</a> also gave me a coupon for the <i>Gamemania. </i> Final Fantasy XIII-2 comes out next month and guess what I am going to get. Thanx you all.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Lemme know what you guys got for the Holidays!</div>Zeronichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11076780267198718119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443645307865469254.post-83739358904917156072011-12-22T15:16:00.001+01:002012-04-01T15:01:42.124+02:00Holiday messageSomething new... something awesome... it is... Tenebie errm TENEBRAE!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i392.photobucket.com/albums/pp9/gammathegreat/Tales%20of%20Symphonia/comme_bg04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://i392.photobucket.com/albums/pp9/gammathegreat/Tales%20of%20Symphonia/comme_bg04.jpg" width="169" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Name: </b> Tenebrae OR Tenebie, Braebrae, Mr doggie, Tennie, Tenebonehead.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Game: </b>Tales of Symphonia, Dawn of the new world</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Alignment: </b>Spitefull, although he calls himself Conservative. Also very loyal</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Powers: </b>Summoning dark monsters, floating, whispering useless information in your sleep</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Age: </b>10000+ ( it is over 9000!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My girlfriend <a href="http://shelikesbento.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cynni</a> requested this character for review, and I cannot agree with her more. I played a couple of "Tales of" games but this character is by far my favourite. His quotes are hilarious but he still is quite a serious character. Tenebrae makes you laugh and if he doesn't someone else talking about him will make you laugh.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tenebrae is Latin for shadow or darkness, and that is exactly what he is. Tenebrae is one of the centurion, a keeper/guardian/companion for Ratatosk. Each of the Centurion have their own element and that of Tennie is the one of Darkness. He first appeared when Emil, the main character, goes into a cavern with Richter. He explains the story of Ratatosk to Emil and gives him the powers of a Knight of Ratatosk. Tenebrae keeps accompanying Emil in his journey to find all the Centurions and awaken Ratatosk. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://tales-of-symphonia-by-lina.wifeo.com/images/3/333/333692.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://tales-of-symphonia-by-lina.wifeo.com/images/3/333/333692.jpg" width="291" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Although he is a centurion he has no active use in battle. However, he can summon dark aligned monsters to fight for him. Usually he does this with a Knight of Ratatosk to fight together. Tenebrae futhermore has the abilty to float. Although he is quite light, he is able to lift even heavy things like a huge monster without much effort. Martha once rode him all the way from Palmacosta to Luin. Although he doesn't want to be seen as an animal it apparantly was no effort for him. He also has a hand on the end of his tail to lift everything.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tenebrae is also able to transform into anything he wants. Yet over the course of the game he only</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">transforms into a fishing rod and a beautifull woman (who looks like a summon spirit).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It might not be a power, but due to his extreme age he knows a LOT. He spent most of his time in the Ginnungagap but he is still aware of the world. He knows every little detail and likes to brag about it. One of his hobbies (or power as he says himself) is whispering useless information to people in their sleep. They recall these facts later and are quite annoyed by the amount of useless info that now occupies their brain.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://lparchive.org/Tales-of-Symphonia-Dawn-of-the-New-World/Update%2023/71-23A70.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://lparchive.org/Tales-of-Symphonia-Dawn-of-the-New-World/Update%2023/71-23A70.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Although Tenebrae is serious most of the time, he can be quite sarcastic and he likes to make fun of people. He sees himself as a superior being most of the time and tries to outsmart people with his wits. When more people enter the party he tends to lose these battles though. Intellegence can't hit a rock either so non intellegent partymembers like Collete also seem win this. Mostly because she keeps giving him cute names which he kinda hates since he is a proud centurion. Nicknames given by other centurion such as Tenebonehead don't seem to bother him though.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Usually I finish a post with some fun facts of a character. Most of his fun factor come from his quotes though so instead I give you this!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zhbs3KP-kac?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
